While the UN is supporting the new Ukranian government, in Kiev the capital pro-government forces destroyed a monument of Dmitry Manuilsky - one of the men, who created the UN.

On April, 25 1945 delegates of 50 states met in San-Francisco to establish an international organization. Now it's called the United Nations. The Charter of the United Nations, included 111 articles and was signed on June 25th 1945. All 50 states signed it. One of the states that signed that document was Ukrainian SSR. The representative of this country, accredited to international organizations, was the people's commissar (minister) Manuilsky - head of the delegation. And his signature was on the basic documents of the UN.

Not long time ago, when the UN expressed approval and support of the new authorities who took over Ukraine, young pro-government activists crashed and vandalized the monument of this man with paint. A Very ominous symbolic action, one would think!

These days the international organizations prefer to close their eyes and ignore the acts of vandalism. Maybe this occurrence would push them to realize what really happens in Ukraine now.
